Disclaimer
Please read this before relying on anything here for a claim.
This site is reference information only. It is not billing advice, medical advice, or legal advice. Verify against the payer before you file.
Not billing advice
Nothing here tells you which code to use for a specific encounter. Code selection depends on documentation, payer policy, and clinical detail that no reference table can see.
Payers apply their own rules on top of the federal code sets. Two payers can treat the same code differently, and Medicare frequently differs from commercial plans. Always check the payer's own policy.
Not medical advice
This is a site for billing and administrative staff. Nothing here is guidance on diagnosis or treatment, and none of it should be used to make a clinical decision.
Data currency
Every dataset shows the date we imported it. Between our import and your visit, the source may have changed. CMS revises HCPCS quarterly and NPPES monthly.
When something is past its expected update window, we mark it rather than hiding it. That marking is a warning, not a formality.
NPI records specifically
An NPI does not mean a provider is licensed or credentialed. CMS states this explicitly. An NPI is an identifier issued on application. It is not verification of licensure, credentialing, or good standing.
Verify licensure with the relevant state board, and exclusion status with the HHS Office of Inspector General.
No professional relationship
Using this site does not create a professional relationship of any kind between you and ProvidersDesk.
