What this is
ProvidersDesk publishes free lookup tools for medical billers, coders, credentialing staff and practice administrators. HCPCS Level II codes, modifiers, place of service codes, NPI provider records and provider taxonomies. All searchable, no account required.
Everything here comes from public federal data. Nothing is behind a signup wall.
Why it exists
The reference data billers need every day is public, free, and published by CMS. It is also scattered across government sites that were never designed for daily use, or wrapped inside commercial tools charging for access to information the taxpayer already paid for.
That gap is the reason this site exists.
Who builds it
ProvidersDesk is built and maintained by people working in medical billing and healthcare data. The tools are shaped around what a working day actually looks like rather than around what a government form looks like, because the people building them use this data professionally.
Errors get corrected quickly, and the import date on the affected page updates when they are. Tell us if you find one.
How the data is handled
Every dataset is imported directly from its official source and stamped with the date it was pulled. Not a vague promise about being current. An actual date, on the page.
When something is past its update window, the site says so rather than quietly serving stale information. Retired codes and deactivated NPIs stay visible and marked, because someone looking up a code they used last year needs to know what happened to it.

What is deliberately not here
CPT codes. Level I procedure codes are owned by the American Medical Association and require a paid licence per user. They are not on this site and will not be.
The same applies to CDT dental codes, owned by the ADA, and DSM-5 criteria, owned by the APA. Everything published here is public domain or free to use, which is also why it can be free to you.
